Personality At the start of the First Selection, Kuon is the main strategist of Team Z, helping to organize them and create numerous strategies thanks to his experience starting a soccer club in high school. When he truly cares, Kuon gives 100% in soccer, but when he's only thinking about himself, he only puts in as much effort as necessary to gather the information he needs to his advantage and advance. His genuinely likeable personality fooled Team Z for most of the time before anyone realized Kuon had betrayed them.

Kuon's friendly demeanor is actually a facade; after Yoichi Isagi exposes him for betraying his team, he reveals himself to be ruthless, capable of betraying his own teammates to advance in Blue Lock. He refuses to play as a team and trusts no one but himself. This stems from the fact that in middle school, his friends and teammates didn't share his ambition and never took soccer as seriously as Kuon did. After being eliminated with his team, he vowed never to let himself be dragged back. In Blue Lock, Kuon is always looking for the best team and offers to cooperate with them by providing information about his own. Kuon also finds Team Z's approach to winning foolish and naive, telling Isagi that they are stupid for believing they will survive if they work together.

After Team Z's draw against Team W, Kuon decides to stay out of it and do nothing for the team in their match against Team V, as he's absolutely certain Team V will win. However, after witnessing his teammates go toe-to-toe with Team V, the best team in their age group, Kuon's passionate love for soccer is rekindled, and he decides to help them once again by supporting and cheering them on to victory.

Despite this, he is aware that his past actions will not be forgiven and accepts that they can no longer trust him.
