Blue Lock

Anri Teieri is an attractive young woman with delicate features, neck-length pinkish-orange hair styled with two braids tied on either side at the back, and square bangs that fall gently over the left side. Her eyes are a deep chocolate brown. She usually wears a secretary-like outfit that suits her role, but in cover pages and color spreads, she is depicted in more formal or striking clothing, showcasing a different side of her style. Anri is a calm but very determined young woman whose biggest dream is to see Japan win the World Cup. She is passionate when it comes to football, and although the majority in the Japan Football Association ridiculed her and treated her as nothing more than a woman with big dreams, she sticks to her goals and visions. While generally polite and professional, she speaks her mind, especially in regards to her dreams of winning the World Cup, and is unaffected by the business-minded Japan Football Association ideologies.

Neo Egoist League

Unlike the rest of the teams in the Neo Egoist League which focus on a singular unit apparatus, Paris X Gen deploys a double standard system. Each of the two systems have a centered striker, being Rin Itoshi & Ryusei Shido and 2 specific supporting teammates to assist them. These systems would have different styles of play and would swap every 15 minutes. Charles Chevalier acts as the heart of the team because of his exceptional passes and ability to adjust his play style to the centered strikers. Both systems compete with each other in assisting their respective striker. At the climax of their match against Bastard München, Shido decided to coordinate with Rin after seeing Yoichi Isagi and Michael Kaiser working together, with their respective systems joining the cause.

Neo Egoist League

The main striker and center of the team during the Neo Egoist League is Michael Kaiser. Kaiser uses his vision of the field combined with his positioning and lightning-fast shot to score efficient goals. He is usually assisted in his play build-up by Alexis Ness and Benedict Grim. Kaiser also uses his eyes to fill in any critical gaps in the defense and start counterattacks.

With Blue Lock mixed into the team, Rensuke Kunigami acts as a secondary clinical finisher taking advantage of any opportunities that Kaiser or Isagi are unable to act. Yoichi Isagi uses the same view of the field and his spatial awareness and reflex to charge through enemy defenses with other teammates like Ranze Kurona, Kenyu Yukimiya, and Yo Hiori to create new opportunities of attack for the team by bringing out the best plays from his teammates all so he can score goals. He also fills in critical gaps in the defense along with Kaiser. Ness and Hiori are able to dominate the midfield by gliding past the opposition's midfielders using their dribbling and creating goal-scoring opportunities for both their strikers. The team is divided in assisting one of two of its strikers while everybody still looks for chances to make their own goals. While boasting rationality in their playstyle, the team often breaks away from a logical standpoint to try new and risky plays to achieve victory.

Julian Loki is a French soccer player who is considered a prodigy in the sport. He joins Blue Lock to analyze the remaining players and later returns to help train them. He is a nice team player, who encourages his teammates and does not get intimated by his opponents on the field. Aoshi Tokimitsu is a skilled forward with a strong build, however he lacks confidence in his own abilities. His soft-spoken personality leads to him doubting himself during soccer matches and can affect the way he plays. Off the field he is a friendly guy who enjoys talking about soccer. Leonardo Luna is a soccer player from Spain who joins Blue Lock to analyze the remaining players. Although he appears to be a nice individual, with time it is revealed that he is pompous and arrogant. Hibiki Okawa was his high school's star soccer player before joining Blue Lock. In soccer his most useful abilities include super-shooting (feinting to throw off the goalkeeper's timing) and chip shooting (kicking the bottom of the ball to project it over his opponents).

Tabito Karasu is a talented soccer player who is among the top ranks when he is introduced to the series. He is arrogant and will look down on others who he thinks are not as skilled as he is. He likes to follow his own sets of rules while on the field and dislikes when things do not go to plan. Pablo Cavasoz is an Argentian soccer player who joined Blue Lock to judge and analyze the remaining players. He is considered to be the best free kicker in the world. Aside from his impressive soccer skills, Pablo is also known for having rainbow colored hair and a baby-faced look. Jyubei Aryu is a strong and talent soccer player who is shown to be at the top of the ranks when he is introduced to the series. He has a need for everything to be "stylish," from his appearance to his performance on the field. His eccentric personality makes him both a memorable character and star player. Shoei Baro is a skilled forward who has a goal of always being the star of the soccer field. He sees himself as "The King" of soccer, superior to everyone else on both his team and opposing teams. His passion for being praised as a star should not be confused with a passion for soccer, as he does not love the sport itself. Eita Otoya is a highly skilled soccer player who is calm yet confident in his sports abilities. He is rarely threatened by others but can and will admit when another player's skills impress him. Jinpachi Ego is the director, manager, and face of the Blue Lock facility. His name "Ego" is representative of his egotistical nature, encouraging the players to only think of themselves and denouncing teamwork and friendliness. Zantetsu Tsurugi is known for being a simple-minded but quick forward. He is calm most of the time, however loses his temper when someone insults his intelligence. Since realizing that he isn't the smartest but can excel in physical abilities, he decided to dedicate himself to soccer so he can utilize his speed for success.

Yoichi Isagi formerly played as a forward for his high school's soccer team before entering the Blue Lock facility. His dream is to be the world's best striker. He was originally taught that teamwork and having fun on the field was the most important thing about sports, but since arriving at Blue Lock and feeling the rush of winning he has become determined to always come out on top. Reo Mikage is the heir to a large corporation and grew up without ever having to earn or ask for anything. Therefore, his life goal is to win the Soccer World Cup, which cannot be bought for him. This aspiration is the driving force for him to consistently improve at soccer, and he also got his longtime friend Nagi into the sport. Rensuke Kunigami is a strong soccer player who dreams of becoming a soccer superhero. Despite his overwhelming passion for soccer, he takes a logical approach to the sport and doesn't let his feelings overtake his actions during a game. Ryusei Shido is a unique case in Blue Lock - he does not have a strong dream of becoming the best in the world. Instead, he just wants to have fun and spend his life playing soccer. He enjoys violent and physical interactions thus has a passion for the sport of soccer. He has blond hair with pink edges, his hair up like a hedgehog, his skin is tanned and bronze which Megumi mock by saying it’s fake, his eyes are dark pink. Kenyu Yukimiya Despite having an eye condition, Yukimiya is an ambitious soccer player who is determined to become the worlds best striker while he is still able to play. He is extremely confident in his own abilities and thinks that scoring on his own is both the smartest and most efficient method of scoring. Gin Gagamaru is a forward who dreams of being the best soccer player in the world. He was noted for having the perfect physique and abilities to be a goalkeeper, and has since tried his hand at that position. He is a reliable team player who is willing to try new things for the sake of his team members.

Megumi Bachira plays as a forward who strives to unleash the "monster" inside his soccer opponents at first, but later his goal is to become the world's best striker. He has a very odd yet energetic personality and uses that on the field - although he is prone to sleeping spells at times. He is an extremely dominant soccer player and thinks of himself before anything or anyone else. Seishiro Nagi is an extremely skilled player who has a natural talent for soccer. He discovered this trait when his longtime friend Mikage introduced him to the sport. His soccer abilities come naturally, and he doesn't have a strong passion for the sport - however, he can become highly motivated if he is challenged to do or achieve something. Ithoshi Rin is the youngest brother of Sae Itoshi who began playing soccer with him when they were children. He has been a star player on every team he's ever been apart of and once had the sole goal of defeating his brother in every aspect of soccer. Since joining Blue Lock he has been a ruthless player and is the ideal candidate for what Ego is looking for. Sae Itoshi is the older brother of Rin Itoshi who, like others, dreams of being the best striker in the world. He focused on soccer and nothing else for the majority of his life, becoming a cold and serious individual who only cared about the sport. He and his brother had been involved in playing soccer for the majority of their lives. Hyoma Chigiri plays as a forward and is seen as a soccer prodigy. His natural soccer talent lead to him developing a cocky and confident personality, but can become emotional when his ego is hurt - especially in the context of a soccer game.

The Japan national team finished 16th in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The Japan Football Union hires the football enigma Jinpachi Ego. His masterplan to lead Japan to stardom is Blue Lock, a training regimen designed to create the world's greatest egotistic striker. Those who fail Blue Lock will never again be permitted to represent Japan. Yoichi Isagi, an unknown high school football player who is conflicted about his playing style, decides to join the program competing against 299 other players to become the best striker in the world.
