Artyom often visited her and helped with the housework. One warm summer morning, news quickly spread throughout the village: — Marfa’s granddaughter has arrived! Many residents were surprised and delighted. They remembered well a little girl named Alina, who once ran through the village streets with pigtails and a ringing laugh. She was last seen when she was just eight years old. Now Alina is eighteen. When she got out of the car near her grandmother's house, many couldn't believe their eyes. The girl everyone remembered as a child had grown into a true beauty. She had long blonde hair, kind eyes, and the same warm smile as her grandmother.
