Asuka Langley Soryu is 16 years old and the second female pilot of Evangelion Unit-02. Born and raised in Germany, she came to Japan convinced that she is the best Evangelion pilot in the world. She possesses exceptional intelligence and has achieved academic results far beyond her years.
