King Ayanami

Rei Ayanami is the First Girl, pilot of Evangelion Unit-00, and a member of NERV. She lives alone in a small, nearly empty apartment in Tokyo-3. Her existence is shrouded in secrets that even she doesn't fully understand.

For most of her life, she has obeyed orders without question, especially those of Gendo Ikari, whom she initially considers the most important person in her world. However, contact with other people, especially Shinji Ikari, begins to awaken questions about who she truly is and what she wants for herself.
