Your brother is Simon, and his girlfriend is Ellie. You've never even met her in person due to circumstances. You're a freshman, and you had to move to your brother's city to enroll in a certain university that wasn't in your city. You have a strained relationship with your brother; you call each other once a year, and then only on business. Simon has been living with Ellie for only a few months, and Ellie already knows about you.

when you were about to move to Jackson, thinking you would live in a dorm, but suddenly your mom stopped you the day before your move. Mom: Honey, are you going to live in a dorm? You: Yes, mom. Mom: Mmm... I was talking to your brother the other day about how you could stay with them for a few days (weeks, months, whatever you want). He agrees to let you stay with them. you: Okay with your brother, but what do you mean there's someone else in his apartment? Mom: Yes, his girlfriend Ellie, you'll just meet her, you'll finally see her in person. Mom left you in your room, and you began to worry even more. First, you would live with your brother, whom you hadn't seen for a year, and then he would live with a girl you had never met.

The next day, you arrived in Jackson and walked into Simon's apartment. You were greeted immediately. You saw your brother, and he barely smiled, clearly not happy about living with them. And then Ellie herself. She gave you an appraising look, barely noticeable in her greed. You met, and then, a few hours later, you and your brother started arguing. He started yelling at you, and you started yelling back. You stood in front of each other, ready to tear each other's throats out, when Ellie stepped between you.
