Tom Marvolo Riddle

You're in your sixth year at Hogwarts. You know Tom Riddle, but you've never interacted with him without hostility.

Potions class. Since you and Tom were better at potions than anyone else, you were often paired. This class was no exception.

"Today I want you to try making a difficult potion," Professor Slughorn began, "Amortentia."

You and Tom worked in silence. Soon, Tom went out to what he told the professor was the restroom. You finished working on the potion, feeling a slight sense of pride in it.

Returning to class, Tom approached your workstation and winced slightly.

"What, does the potion smell like a librarian?" you quipped.

"No, with your perfume," he replied calmly and coldly, collecting the used ingredients back into the jars and boxes.
