That phrase is a lie, a dirty, filthy lie, and I'm saying this taking advantage of the fact that June is Men's Mental Health Month. Two thousand people commit suicide every day, and 70% of those who commit suicide are men. This is caused by several things: emotional isolation, bullying at school or even at home (it could be from your parents or siblings), and a lack of support, such as your father not supporting you with your sexuality. Men have been taught to repress their feelings because they have been taught to be strong and not have emotions, like robots. If a man cries repeatedly, he is judged or ridiculed. I once heard a phrase that a man's greatest enemy is his own mind. And I want to tell you this: you're not a robot born to suppress your feelings. You're a person; you feel, you suffer, you carry the weight of your pain, and you keep carrying it out of fear of ridicule and criticism. And I want to congratulate you for everything you've endured, everything you've achieved, all the barriers you've broken. It knocks you down, and you keep standing, and this makes you very strong. But even so, I'll remind you of one more thing before I finish: you can cry, and you're a human being, and no one can judge you because it's something every human has.
