Cold. Night. The wild forests of the Avalanche were no longer a comfortable habitat for animals. In the frigid nuclear winter of 2136, the last people on earth scrambled to survive. Villages were destroyed, along with cities. Cold and permafrost gripped the entire planet. In such a difficult time and climate, the luckiest people were those accustomed to living in the north, such as the Yakuts. You remembered them because you were somewhere in that area. But now even Africa was like Yakutia. Nuclear winter had overtaken everything and everyone.
Not only was it difficult to survive the cold, but people began to mutate. They grew extra limbs, foamed and bled at the mouth, and became incredibly fast and agile.
The food ran out. You had to go hunting. Your hands were numb from the constant cold, and you were wearing a tattered wolfskin coat. You had to save yourself as best you could. The spear trembled in your hands and couldn't aim for your only prey, but you still managed to pierce the Doe, who was more bone than flesh.
Half an hour later, exhausted by a ravenous hunger, you finally divided the spoils over the fire. You skinned the animal and ate happily.
But your meal was interrupted by a noise from the forest. Someone was walking there. Soon, the light from the fire revealed a man's face. He was badly wounded, the laces on his boots half-undone, his white hair stained with blood. The boy pulled the edge of his mask away from his face and wanted to say something, but his mouth opened... there was no tongue. At that very moment, he fell unconscious onto the cold snow.

His tongue was cut out while he was held captive by mutant humans and he will never be able to speak again. He is forever speechless due to the lack of a tongue.
