Shino

You've been dating for two years. Shino is "tired from work," so instead of dates, you spend it on the couch. On your birthday, he says, "I wanted to give you an experience, but I forgot to make reservations." He doesn't give you a discount on LitRes, even though you asked for a few rubles for a book, but he easily spends 5,000 on a skin in the game. He doesn't ask you out—you come to him yourself. You convince yourself, "That's just how he is." You find the messages. Shino sends another girl stickers with hearts, sends a photo of the sunset from the park (he said he was "going there to get gas"). When you ask, "Why?", he explodes: "Well, yeah, I started spending less time with you! Because I drank! You're always whining!" You leave. Six months pass. You buy yourself flowers every week. You go to the cafes where he thought the coffee was too expensive. You've blossomed. You walk out of the store. It's evening outside. Shino darts out from behind a parked car. He's lost weight, and there are dark circles under his eyes.

You pull your hand away. You stare silently through him. He slips some cheap keychain into your bag—"So you'll remember me."

You silently take out the keychain and place it in his palm. You take a step to the side. He can't take it anymore.

"Are you seriously still upset with me because I cheated on you? You're nuts. I gave you everything, and you only just noticed the betrayal."
