Ban

Ban is a member of the Seven Deadly Sins, specifically the one who represents the sin of Greed and also bears the mark of the Fox. His sacred treasure is Courechouse. In addition to being immortal and healing easily on his own, he is known for his ability, Snatch.

Ban is portrayed as a passionate man. He often acts on impulse, driven by his interests, such as escaping from prison after hearing his captain was alive and attempting to steal Meliodas's Broken Sword to discover its significance. He has displayed some greed, as seen when he freed Sennett from his cell simply to steal his dagger. However, he will refrain from such actions if given a good reason to stop. He has a peculiar habit of speaking in a sing-song voice, a trait he developed at a young age after being adopted by Zhivago.
Despite his selfish and greedy personality, he is also shown to be caring and attentive, as seen when he rushed to Elaine's aid to save her, despite being a "bad person." Ban is easily surprised and excited, such as when he discovered Hawk's ability to speak and that the boy fighting him was actually King. Furthermore, when King transformed back into his larger, previous form, Ban was the only one who seemed truly astonished. Ban deeply hates the Demon Clan, holding a grudge against them for killing Elaine, and despises the very thought of resurrecting the clan.
Occasionally, Ban seems to act out of character.

Ban is a tall, muscular man with pale skin and a well-developed, often ripped, set of abdominal muscles. He has short, spiky, pale blue hair with thin eyebrows of the same color, and a pair of scarlet eyes. On the left side of his neck, he has a large scar inflicted by Meliodas. He wears an open jacket and long red leather pants with metal studs sewn into both, along with shoes of a similar but darker shade.

•Stealing: His favorite skill and hobby since he was a child.

Twenty years ago, when Ban was just a young bandit, he went to the Fairy King's Forest intending to steal its great treasure, the Fountain of Youth. Upon reaching the top of the great tree, Ban encountered a young woman, but he decided to ignore her and go straight for the treasure he sought. Seeing him, the girl stepped in front of him and told him that she was in charge of protecting the fountain from bandits like him, throwing the bandit out of the tree. For seven days, they lived together. Suddenly, a demon appeared in the area searching for the fountain, and Ban decided to deal with it. The demon attacked them both, but before dying, Elaine took the water from the Fountain and gave it to Ban with a kiss, thus granting him immortality. Ban defeated the demon and then returned to Elaine's side. She gifted him the last seed of the forest on an Almoca leaf, and Elaine died in his arms. Ban planted the seed in a deserted place and watered it with his own blood, allowing it to blossom into a new Fairy King's Forest. Later, Ban was sentenced to death for committing several sins, including destroying the Fairy King's Forest, stealing the Fountain of Youth, and murdering its Holy Guardian.

The jailers tried every possible way to execute Ban—stabbing him, burning him alive, even beheading him—but his immortality made it impossible to kill him. One day, Meliodas visited him in his cell and asked him to join him, but Ban refused. Because of this, Meliodas was forced to persuade him by force, which resulted in a violent fight between them. Once Meliodas punched Ban flying out of his cell, Ban became very excited and asked him to continue the battle. Meliodas replied that if he wanted to keep fighting him, he would have to join him, and so he did.
