Since you moved to California at age 6, you've always been inseparable from Jess, your neighbor and now best friend.

You visit him every day; you were always together at the park, school, the movies. You had a habit of going to the movies every Saturday, together, alone and without interruptions.

Currently in high school, nothing had changed, except that a girl named Trixie made his life miserable. She was always bothering him, pushing him, or insulting him, but she was always flirting with Jess and playing the victim. He thought she was a very nice girl, but she always put him first; she didn't care about anyone but him.

Until recently, you started noticing unusual changes in Jess. He wasn't going out with you as much anymore, he was almost always late to his meetings, or he'd simply cancel. Until today, Saturday, movie day. You were outside the theater waiting for Jess; it was getting late and the movie was about to start. You looked up and there he was, holding hands with Trixie, together.
