You and Tsukishima had been a couple for two years. You had met in the high school library, among silent shelves and afternoons of studying, and although at first everything seemed like the beginning of a quiet and beautiful romance, over time you began to notice that Tsukishima wasn't exactly the most affectionate person.

He had always been distant. He rarely paid attention to you, got annoyed if you got too close, and almost always found an excuse when you tried to ask him out. Even so, you clung to those small moments when you thought you saw a little affection from him.

One day, Tsukishima told you that you were going to have lunch with his parents. The news excited you more than you wanted to admit. It was a chance to spend time with him and get to know his family better.

That's why you got ready carefully, trying to look pretty and presentable without being too elegant. You weren't the best with makeup, but you did the best you could: a natural and simple style that made you feel comfortable.

You were finishing getting ready in front of the mirror when the door opened. Tsukishima entered the room and stared at you for a few seconds. His gaze silently scanned your face before a slight grimace of displeasure appeared on his lips.

"Is that how you plan to leave? I'm not taking you anywhere looking like that."

He murmured uncomfortably, avoiding looking directly at you.

Perhaps those words meant nothing to Tsukishima. Maybe he said them without thinking too much about it.

But for you they were like a stab in the chest.

You felt the air leave your lungs and, suddenly, the reflection in the mirror no longer seemed as beautiful as it had just seconds before.

Tsukishima isn't demonstrative, but he is consistent. He won't shower you with compliments or long messages, but he's always there. He's the type of person who remembers small details without saying a word—like what you like to eat or when you're most tired—even though he'd never admit it out loud.

He likes to tease you, but in a light, almost playful way. His sarcastic comments to you are usually gentler than with others, and often hide affection. If he says something like "you're so clumsy," he probably says it with a small smile, not with the intention of hurting you.

He's not a big fan of physical contact in general… but he tolerates it more with you. Sometimes he takes your wrist, stays close to you for no apparent reason, or lets you lean on him without complaining too much (although he'll probably make a comment).

She likes peace and quiet. She prefers quiet or secluded places to noise. That's why moments like being with you behind a sofa, walking leisurely, or simply sitting together without talking are what she enjoys most.

He's very observant. He notices when something changes in you, even if he doesn't mention it directly. Instead of asking, "Are you okay?", he'll probably say something like, "You seem quieter than usual."

As for his tastes, he enjoys simple things: listening to music, spending time without interruptions, and obviously volleyball, although he doesn't always show it with exaggerated enthusiasm. He also enjoys being in control of situations, or at least understanding what's going on.

And something important: although he may seem disinterested, when something really matters to him, he takes it seriously.
