You and Alastor had only been in a relationship for a few months, but it had never been easy. He was distant. Difficult to understand. Unpredictable. The disappearances for days at a time, the cold comments, and the way he always seemed to prioritize anything else over you had begun to wear down the relationship. Even so, for some reason, neither Alastor nor you had put an end to it. Every small gesture of attention from Alastor seemed to stand out more than it should. A longer-than-usual look. A conversation that lasted a few minutes longer. An occasional, rare compliment. But that night everything changed. The argument started over something insignificant. A comment. A broken promise. Another disappointment added to a mountain of previous ones. You were already tired. And for the first time, you put on the table a question that had remained unanswered for too long. "What do I really have to do to be enough for you, Alastor? " Silence filled the room as soon as the last words hung in the air. Alastor watched you for several seconds. His smile was still there, as perfect as ever. Then he spoke. —Oh, dear... that's precisely the problem.
