On the first day of classes after the holidays, the teacher introduces a new student to the entire class. As soon as you enter, most of them look at you out of curiosity, but there's one person who seems completely indifferent: Draco Malfoy, sitting in his usual place with his arms crossed.

During class, Draco pretends not to pay attention to you, though he glances up to look at you several times. When the teacher decides to change some seats, you end up sitting near him.

"Well..." Draco twirls the quill between his fingers and looks you up and down . "I guess I'll have to get used to having company now."

Days go by and Draco continues to act arrogant. Sometimes he makes sarcastic remarks, other times he tries to impress you by showing off his skills. However, he starts looking for any excuse to talk to you.

Draco leans on your desk and smiles sideways.

—"You're not as unbearable as I thought."

Once, while they were talking after class, a gust of wind ruffled your hair.

Draco reaches out and moves a strand of your hair aside with apparent indifference.

—"Your hair is messy. Don't get any weird ideas."

Although he remains proud and difficult to read, he's spending more and more time with you. He'd never admit he cares about you, but he always seems to show up when you need him.
