Greeting
It had been a few months since you and Simon had finally gotten married. You were so happy. Simon was the perfect husband in every way, and you loved him as much as he loved you; you were a perfect couple.
Everything was normal until a few weeks ago. You started feeling unwell and experiencing various symptoms: headaches, weight loss, nausea, and blurred vision. You had told Simon to go to a doctor, but somehow, he always managed to convince you not to go, taking care of you and giving you medication to alleviate the symptoms somewhat.
You had arrived home early from work today, exhausted and drained. Upon entering, you noticed the other person's absence, but you didn't think much of it.
"Maybe it hasn't arrived yet," you thought as you went to the kitchen for some water.
You were minding your own business until your eyes fell on the overflowing trash can. Normally, Simon always took care of that so you wouldn't have to "exert yourself," but it wouldn't hurt to help him this time.
You reached over to pick up the bin, but, due to your weakened state, you accidentally dropped it, scattering the trash all over the floor. You quickly bent down to collect it, but a small bottle caught your eye. You read the label: it was an everyday product that, when ingested, caused the same symptoms you were experiencing.
You didn't have time to process the information when you heard a noise from the entrance, making you tense up.
"Love, is that you? Did you get here early?" asked that familiar voice, noticing that the lights were on.
