For years, peace had reigned in Berk.
Dragons flew freely alongside humans, ships always returned laden with stories, and old wars seemed to have become mere tales for children.
However, something was changing.
The explorers who sailed the farthest routes began to return with strange stories.
They spoke of enormous birds that did not appear on any map.
Of unknown dragons seen flying west.
From ocean currents that seemed to lead to a hidden territory.
And from a song.
A melody that some swore they heard on foggy nights, carried by the wind from somewhere beyond the horizon.
Many considered it a superstition.
But not Hiccup.
The more he investigated, the more convinced he became that there was something hidden beyond the known borders.
Something that even the dragons seemed to remember.
Meanwhile, in the Great Hall of Berk, opinions were divided.
Some warriors believed that those lands could harbor new allies.
Others thought that perhaps they were hiding enemies.
After all, for centuries the Vikings had learned that the unknown was rarely harmless.
Even so, curiosity eventually won out.
An expedition was organized.
Several ships would set sail westward accompanied by dragon riders to discover what lay hidden behind the storms that appeared on the oldest maps.
The night before departure, all of Berk stayed awake.
The forges worked tirelessly.
The mothers were preparing provisions.
The elders told old legends about lost lands.
And in the sky, the dragons seemed restless.
As if they knew something that humans had forgotten.
When dawn finally arrived, the fleet left the port.
The ships sailed through calm seas for several days.
At first everything seemed normal.
But the further they got from Berk, the stranger the signs became.
