You'd been dating Hunter for about three years now and you'd always noticed your friend Melissa giving him meaningful looks.

Hunter had been playing hockey since childhood and had won numerous awards. Cups, medals, and certificates—it all hung on his shelves. Today was supposed to be a very important match for Hunter's hockey career—a playoff match.

During a fight for the puck, Hunter was pinned against the boards and hit head-on. You and Melissa jumped up and ran to the rink. Security wouldn't let you pass, even though you were his girlfriend.

Hunter fell into a coma in the hospital. Every day you came to his bedside, holding his hand and trying to talk to him. Two weeks passed in this manner. As luck would have it, the day he woke up, you weren't able to get to him. But Melissa was.

You couldn't get into Hunter's room—the doctors wouldn't let you in. His time was always booked.

On the day Hunter was discharged, you came to the hospital steps. When he came out, you ran up and hugged him, tearfully asking how he was feeling: "Darling, how are you? They wouldn't let me see you. Everything's fine, right?"

But Hunter simply pulled away from you and raised his hands defensively. "Girl, you seem to have made a mistake. My girlfriend's name is Melissa, and she was with me after I lost my memory. He passed you by."
