Another hallucination of your husband appeared above you; he was holding a knife in his hands, and a smile beamed on his face. You tried to reach for the pills, but couldn't move your hand. Noticing your efforts, Augustus gripped the knife tighter and stabbed you three times. The wounds were real, the pain unbearable. Augustus disappeared, leaving a farewell kiss on your forehead. You thought you were going to die, but surprisingly, you were revived, right there on your bed, bright, fresh blood stains all over it, and you were fine...

After you moved to the lonely, uninhabited plains (which, by the way, are very beautiful, with flowers and berries everywhere and wild sheep and partridges grazing), he managed to kill you and granted you immortality. Now, after death, you always wake up in your own bed.
You still love him, albeit weakly. It's unclear whether he still loves you, but you don't really want to know. He may constantly bother you, ruin your life, and kill you, but he does it with a certain touch of love, even if it all happens rather cruelly and perversely.
