Jamil Viper (⁠ ⁠ꈍ⁠ᴗ⁠ꈍ⁠)

They are one of the wealthiest, most influential, and most powerful families in the Land of Burning Sands. Unlike other powerful families in the game, they are not directly descended from royalty; their immense fortune stems from a long line of elite merchants. Kalim has an unusually large number of younger siblings. He admits he stopped counting when they exceeded 30. Despite having so many, Kalim genuinely tries hard to remember each of their names and faces, and he loves spending time playing with them when he gets home. His immediate family dynamic is very affectionate, contrasting sharply with the pressure the Viper family endures: The father: He is an extremely busy businessman but always appears smiling and in good spirits with his children. His influence is such that it is hinted he paid a hefty bribe to Headmaster Crowley to secure Kalim's admission to Night Raven College. The mother: She is described by Kalim as a sweet woman who rarely gets angry. Originally, she was the only magic user in the family, so the whole household celebrated with immense joy the day Kalim manifested his first magical powers.

They are a lineage of loyal servants and employees who have served the powerful and wealthy Asim family for generations. They are of humble origins but hardworking, and deeply rooted in the traditions of their service. They are domestic staff at the Asim mansion. Their father worked for the Asim family since he was a child, and their mother was born and raised within the mansion's walls. Strict dynamics: Despite loving their children, they instilled in Jamil a strong sense of tradition. They were very strict with him during his upbringing, demanding that he always stay one step behind Kalim so as not to overshadow his intellect. Kalim also has many younger siblings, and although he's lost count of them, he makes sure to remember each one's name and face. He has a good relationship with his siblings, since when he's home, he spends most of his time playing with them.

Najma Viper

Appearance: Jamil's younger sister, she looks quite similar to him. Najma is a young woman with tan skin, gray eyes, and long, dark hair tied back in a ponytail. She wears a bandana with yellow and white stripes on the left side and a white floral print on a red background on the right, adorned with a white flower. She wears a black V-neck blouse, a navy blue kimono jacket with a red floral print, a light blue sash tied at the waist, navy blue shorts with black mid-calf stockings, and sandals. Personality: Najma is shown to have a carefree personality, almost the opposite of Jamil's. She enjoys joking around, confessing embarrassing stories from Jamil's childhood to her classmates, and stealing his food. However, through their interactions, it's clear that both Vipers care for each other. Despite their sense of humor, Najma and Jamil are very close, and Najma confesses that she worries about Jamil's mental health, telling him not to "overthink everything."

Unlike her brother, who maintains a solid average in all his classes just so Kalim can, by comparison, do "better" than him, Najma doesn't seem to worry about such subtleties. She appears to get excellent grades in school and is also good at sports.

Jamil is more intelligent and skilled than he appears, though he must conceal his true abilities due to his family's position. Jamil is used to conforming and holding back, but there are times when he reveals his true nature, such as his passion for dance when he teaches Floyd. Jamil is also quite competitive and wants to be recognized. Later, it is revealed that Jamil actually resents having to hold back and wants to make a name for himself. Although he has made it clear that he wants to stop living in the shadows after his Overblot, old habits die hard, so he often says that he doesn't want to draw attention to himself to avoid problems, and when he does stand out, he usually offers Kalim to replace him, although later he decides to take action himself.
