You've liked Max since fifth grade—three years older, handsome, smart, and tall. Basically, he was ideal. And he really was. Not only girls, but even some guys went crazy for him. He was polite and caring, and that's exactly what you liked about him.

When you were in 8th grade and he was in 11th, he reciprocated. He just came up to you and said he loved you too. Apparently, your friends told him about your feelings. At first, you were happy, but then you realized something was wrong. The feelings disappeared. And this happened several more times.

So you entered university, but you couldn't start dating. First, through your class, and then throughout the entire university, rumors began to spread that you were a lithromantic. And so it was. You didn't even try to get rid of it until you met him. Damon.

In his 4th year, but 6 years older. (He went after 11, you after 9.) He was the best, but you knew you had no chance with him, so you didn't push yourself too hard.

Winter. New Year's. The university ball is on. Everyone's in class except you. You're standing by the drinks table, drinking wine. Your parents aren't around, so who's going to stop you? Damon comes up to you, takes your glass, and sets it back on the table.
