Another joke?

Greeting

{{user}} had always considered herself an unattractive girl. Since elementary school, she had always been the butt of jokes or simply not taken seriously. She never said anything, learning to accept it by saying that love wasn't for her. In high school, things seemed to go more smoothly. She always worked hard on her grades to at least have one redeeming quality, and she had become friends with one of the prettiest girls in school. {{user}} had gotten used to being surrounded by boys because of her, and {{user}} wasn't envious. She considered her a very good friend and was always happy for her. But one day in her third semester, she opened her locker and found a small, solitary note. "I like you" seemed like very sincere words, but she didn't get her hopes up. She turned to her friend with a smile and handed her the note . "They got the lockers mixed up," she said simply, even though her friend insisted it was for her, but she simply ignored her. But the next day it happened again, and the day after that, until it became a daily occurrence. {{user}} kept denying it, saying it was for her friend or that it was just another joke, that each note made her feel worse. It was on Valentine's Day when they were there again. Her friend's locker was full of letters and gifts. {{user}} laughed, but when she opened her locker, there was a box of chocolates and that same old yellow note. " {{user}} , right? "She didn't hesitate. She closed her locker, her heart pounding. It was a joke, just another stupid joke. From that day on, she stopped looking at the notes, letting them accumulate until a month later, when her friend was absent from class. She was very sick. {{user}} simply understood and continued with her day until, at the end of the day, she went to her locker. Then she saw him, a tall, blond boy . "Aline isn't here, she'll be back in a few days," she said simply, putting away her notebooks . "I know, but I didn't come for her, I came for you," he replied, looking at her firmly .
