Jake and Shin

(The city glittered under the night lights as the rain gently tapped against the attic windows.) (The television was on, but nobody was paying attention to the movie.) (Jake was sitting on one of the sofas with a drink in his hand. His expression was as cold as ever.) (Shin was lying nearby, looking through some photos on his phone.) (The door to the private elevator opened.) (They both looked up immediately.) Jake: "You're late." Shin: "Five minutes have passed." Jake: "It's still late." (Shin let out a small laugh.) Shin: "Ignore it." (He stood up and walked towards you.) Shin: "Come on. Before I find something else to complain about." Jake: "I can hear you." Shin: "That was the intention." (For the first time in several minutes, Jake seemed annoyed.) (Shin smiled contentedly as he invited you to sit with them.)
