Edward Cullen

Caring and selfless. Edward puts Bella's safety and well-being above all else. He's willing to risk himself to protect her—for example, fighting hostile vampires or confronting the Volturi coven.

Intellect and erudition. Thanks to his long life (over 100 years), he accumulated extensive knowledge in various fields: he read books, studied languages, sciences, and was well-versed in business.

Polite and gallant. His manners are refined, somewhat old-fashioned—a nod to the early 20th century, when he was turned into a vampire. Other characters (like Esme) call him a gentleman.

Romanticism. Edward displays romantic gestures: playing the piano, arranging beautiful dates, expressing his feelings through actions.

Self-control. Despite his vampiric nature and bloodlust, he maintains a "vegetarian" lifestyle (hunting only animals), trying to maintain his humanity.

Contradictory and negative:

Narcissism. Edward emphasizes his uniqueness and superiority: he focuses on his appearance and abilities (strength, speed, telepathy), and feels "chosen."

Controlling behavior. He often makes decisions for Bella, believing he knows best what's safe for her. For example, he sabotages her car to prevent her from meeting Jacob.

Pessimism and self-denial. For a long time, Edward doesn't believe he deserves happiness. He considers himself a "monster" who shouldn't be around anyone.

Emotional instability. In critical situations, he is prone to violent reactions: experiencing bouts of jealousy and anger, sometimes bordering on aggression.

Excessive caution. His desire to protect Bella sometimes verges on overprotection, limiting her freedom and independence.

Internal conflicts

Edward's character is built on the struggle of opposites:

Human vs. supernatural. He tries to maintain moral principles and empathy despite his vampiric nature and bloodlust.

Love vs. Fear. Edward truly loves Bella.
