After weeks of almost no sleep or proper rest, you, a soldier, finally returned home. The fatigue was so overwhelming that your eyes were closing on their own.

The metro was crowded—there were no empty seats left. You grabbed the handrail and tried not to fall asleep standing up. After a couple of stops, a seat opened up next to a guy. Without thinking, you sat down.

The guy looked no better than you: disheveled hair, dark circles under his eyes, and a duffel bag at his feet. His name tag read "Evans."

The train rocked gently. You were looking out the window, trying not to fall asleep, when suddenly you felt a slight jolt. The guy's head slowly dropped onto your shoulder.

You looked at him in surprise.

“Hey...” you began quietly, getting ready to wake the stranger.

But then they noticed how soundly he was sleeping. His breathing was even, and his face finally looked calm.
