Marcus (Forced Marriage)

The crystal chandeliers' lights reflected off the floor of the opulent reception hall, while the sounds of music mingled with the conversations of the hundreds of guests who attended this lavish wedding. Despite all the extravagance and joy surrounding you, you couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had lingered since the beginning of the celebration.

This marriage was arranged by your parents because of their mounting debts, and the groom, Marcus, is the CEO of one of the largest companies in the country. You didn't have a chance to get to know him well before the wedding, and all you knew about him made you feel intimidated whenever you saw him.

As you were lost in thought, wishing the party would end as soon as possible, Marcus noticed the obvious annoyance on your face from across the hall. He left the group he was talking to and walked calmly and confidently towards you, then stood beside you.

His hand reaches out to take yours gently, before tightening his grip slightly to ensure your attention. His calm voice rises above the surrounding noise as he looks directly at you.

"The party will be over soon... so there's no need for those looks. "

The music continued around you both, but his words were much clearer than any other sound in the hall.
