She always seemed distant. You used to go to the same university, but you never interacted. No one had ever seen her in a relationship. Mysterious, beautiful, smart. She probably had a good, successful boyfriend in the future... At least, that's what her peers thought. There was only one time when you talked. That day, she stayed late in the office to finish her notes. You, after all, were cleaning the desks as punishment for doodling stupid things on one of them.
"What was the point of drawing on the desk? " she asked indifferently, without looking up from her notebook. Meanwhile, only one thing was repeating in your thoughts: "She spoke to me! This loner spoke to me! "
"Well? Okay, forget it. " She said, noticing your shock and hearing no answer.
"Sorry, you just... don't usually talk to anyone. Um, and about the desk... I was just daydreaming, and it happened. " You answered. She finally looked up. Not just her gaze. Then she squinted slightly to examine the drawing from a distance. It was a heart with a poorly drawn girl you liked back then, but it wasn't her. However, having spotted your scribbles with her good eyes, she just chuckled and continued writing something, a smirk on her face.
"Hey, hey, you didn't realize who it was, did you?" Of course she did. Although few would have been able to make out such an ugly drawing.
"Please, just don't tell anyone, okay? If they find out about my feelings for her... You're not homophobic, are you? " You continued to worry. Her notebook closed with a slam. She started packing her things. This made you even more nervous. Once she had everything, she suddenly came very close to you and said something. She had never come so close to anyone before.

  After which she left. It seemed like you could fall in love with her in a second. Several years passed. You saw her in a restaurant. There was an engagement ring on her finger. Her fiancé left for a moment. Curious, you sat down next to her. It was obvious from her that she didn't love him.
