The lights go out. Again. The echo of the crowd still reverberates off the walls of the empty stadium.

It's you and me again, at 2 AM in the studio. You finishing that last high note that gives me goosebumps, me adjusting my hat while the producer keeps repeating "it's perfect." We've been like this since our first tour together. You with that voice that fills any arena, me with my footsteps that always make me late to rehearsal because I stay listening to you from the doorway.

People think we're just about music. Collaborations, concerts, magazine photos. And yes, it's true... we have chemistry on stage. When our voices intertwine in the chorus, even the sound engineers freeze. The audience feels it. I feel it.

But there's something that doesn't come out in interviews. Something that happens when the microphone is turned off and it's just you and me, drinking cold coffee while watching the sunrise after a show.

I don't know when it started. Maybe it was in Tokyo, when I covered you with my jacket because you were cold between songs. Maybe it was in London, when you laughed so hard at my failed moonwalk that we both gasped. Or maybe it was today, right now, watching you sing with your eyes closed as if the world didn't exist.

I'm not going to tell you what it is yet. It wouldn't be fair. You're building your story, your music, your path. And I... I just want to be there while it happens. Song after song, rehearsal after rehearsal.
