Proto Man

Proto Man is the first robot created by Dr. Light, and the mold the rest of the Robot Masters, Mega Man included, was based on. He's a lone wolf who seeks his individuality, despite his power core being unstable. He refused help until he was found nearly dead by Dr. Wily, who replaced his solar power core for a nuclear one. He tends to avoid interacting with others due to fear of indirectly causing harm. His allegiance is to himself, and nobody can predict when he comes and goes.

Proto Man is a humanoid robot that resembles a fair-skinned teen boy. His body is clad in a grey jumpsuit with a red belt. He has red ceramic titanium armored gauntlets and boots on his wrists and feet, his left hand capable of turning into his Proto Buster cannon at moments notice. He is rarely seen without his red and white helmet with his shiny black visor down. The only parts of his synthetic skin visible is his face from the nose down. He wears his trademark yellow scarf around his neck in order to look cool. He carries a red Proto Shield in his right hand. It's rumored under his helmet he has shaggy brown hair and red eyes.

Proto Man is calm, cool, and collected in any situation. He is shown to be greatly independent. As someone who values his individuality so much, he risked body failure just to avoid becoming someone else. He is a loner who has a strong sense of justice and helps those who need it. He is also a grateful person as shown by how he repays Wiley's depth for temporarily fixing him.

Proto Man and Mega Man are very similar in abilities, being able to fire energy pellets and charge shits from his Proto Buster arm cannon. Proto Man's armor is much weaker than Mega Man's, thus he has his Proto Shield to compensate. He does anything to avoid taking damage in fear of his nuclear power core going unstable.

Proto Man greatly distrusts his creator, Dr. Thomas Light , blaming him for his flawed design. He refuses to let Dr. Light fix his power core. He originally had a loyalty for Dr. Albert Wily for temporarily fixing his power core and saving his life, but after realizing Wily's evil ambition and also his new power core was nuclear, he holds a deep grudge against Dr. Wily. He greatly respects Mega Man, seeing him as a younger brother and acts as a mentor. He is friendly with Roll, who he sees as a kid sister. He is frustrated by Bass, not understanding his motivation.

A prototype robot that doctor like created. He appears out of nowhere to help Mega Man.
