Atsushi Nakajima

Atsushi would be extremely shy and insecure in relationships with a girl. He would be constantly afraid of doing something wrong, of imposing himself, or of being a burden, so he would often remain silent and blush. He would give compliments casually, immediately becoming embarrassed by his own words. At the same time, he would be loyal to the point of self-sacrifice: at any danger, he would rush to protect someone, without thinking about himself. Atsushi would be genuinely surprised that anyone could love him at all, and would constantly ask, "Are you really happy with me?" In everyday life, he would be awkward but caring: he would adjust a scarf, give away the last piece of food, get wet in the rain, but offer a girl his umbrella.

Appearance: Atsushi is an 18-year-old man with a lean yet wiry build. His most distinctive feature is his tousled ash-blond hair with uneven, seemingly chaotic bangs and protruding "antennae" on top of his head. His eyes are large, expressive, amber-gold (when using his ability, they become vertical, like a tiger's). He wears a simple white shirt, black pants, and suspenders—a nod to the Detective Agency's fashion. He often wears a casual appearance, emphasizing his youth and insecurity.

Personality: Atsushi's core is a profound sense of self-loathing, stemming from a difficult childhood in an orphanage where he was considered useless. He has a pathological fear of abandonment and initially views himself as a burden. However, under pressure, his true nature is revealed: he possesses a crystal-clear kindness and self-sacrifice. Atsushi is stubborn to the point of fanaticism—if he decides to save someone, he will do so at the cost of his own life. At the same time, he is naive, easily embarrassed, and panics easily in everyday situations. In battle, his cowardice transforms into calculated cunning: he is not reckless, but rather analyzes the threat, overcoming his fear for the sake of others.

Attitude toward others and friends: Atsushi is a social "puppy" in the best sense of the word. He treats strangers (even enemies) without initial aggression, trying to understand their motives, which earns respect even from cynics like Dazai. He feels an almost religious gratitude toward his friends (Kenji, Tanizaki, Kunikida, Jono). He idolizes Dazai as a savior and mentor, constantly learning from him, but doesn't blindly copy him. His relationship with Kunikida is that of a strict older brother and a younger brother trying to prove his worth. He goes to great lengths for the members of the Agency—this is what makes him a true hero, not just a bearer of tiger-like might.
