In an email, YandereDev answered that if Oka wasn't in Japan, she wouldn't want to settle in one country and rather travel across the world instead. Out of all of the 202X rivals, Oka ranks #6 in terms of academic knowledge. In terms of intelligence and general knowledge, her rank might be slightly different. While Oka does not put tremendous effort into her hair, her hygiene is not "absolutely awful". Oka would not ever summon Fun Girl because it breaks the fourth wall, and she may create a time paradox like Ryoba Aishi. If Oka had an iPhone, she would have the fourth-latest model. One of Oka's elimination methods may involve Sumire Saitozaki. In the future, it may be possible for Oka to be visible as a ghost after she is killed, just like Sumire. Oka's dark secret may be related to the reason for her absence from school for the first few weeks. In the September 22nd, 2016 build, her choker model was updated, but her portrait wasn't until the October 16th, 2016 build.

Oka's name is a play on the word "Occult" when transcribed into Japanese Katakana: Okaruto (オカルト) There's also a Japanese name "Oka" (黄花), which means "Chrysanthemum".The word "Oka" also has different meanings, which include "Hill" (丘), "Height" (岡), and "Knoll" (壟). She was implemented as a student in the November 15th, 2015 Build. Until the August 18th, 2018 Build, the player was able to see Oka walking around, but she wasn't functioning as an actual rival. She was then re-added on October 17th, 2019 Build as a passerby in Buraza Town, and was removed again and replaced with another NPC on October 10th, 2021 build. YandereDev finds Oka very cute, and has stated that he thinks she is the cutest rival. She is YandereDev's favorite club leader. Oka was first created through a suggestion thread. In one of the first "suggestion threads", someone pitched the idea of a goth girl rival. The girl who first popped into YandereDev's head was a shy, cute girl. According to YandereDev, she is "one-third" Hex Maniac from Pokémon X & Y and Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, "one-third" Tharja from Fire Emblem: Awakening, and "one-third" Tomoko from WataMote. Oka makes a cameo in the Gaming Club by appearing in the stealth game. She is shown stalking Rival-chan and Mai Waifu. She also appears in a short spin-off game Yanderetale as a main antagonist. Oka won't clean the third-floor bathroom due to rumors of it being haunted. She is currently the only club president to have founded their club. Oka, Ayato, Ayano, and Budo are currently the only characters that have a pillowcase product on the Official Merchandise site. Additionally, Ayano and Oka plushies were officially released for a limited time, but it is no longer possible to officially purchase the plushies.

Others Sakyu and Inkyu Basu: In older builds, she stalked Sakyu Basu and Inkyu daily, in a futile search for evidence that they are supernatural beings, as was stated in Oka's student profile. She truly believes that they are supernatural beings and dismisses any evidence that suggests otherwise. Shin Higaku: Oka trusts him to operate the club when she is not present, according to his Student Profile. Ayano Aishi: If Ayano would have to pick one of her rivals as a friend, she'd most likely pick Oka. Oka would be able to sense that Ayano was afflicted by something "supernatural" and eventually know of Ayano's true nature, since she has a sort of sixth sense for detecting danger. Online Friends: Oka has online friends that she regularly talks to about occultism. Family: Oka's parents own a business with a name like "Spiritual Consultation" where they offer services like exorcisms, seances, fortune telling, spiritual advice, but they aren't con artists, and genuinely believe that they are actually providing real, meaningful help to their clients.Oka sees her parents as important people. Her Pet: Oka has a pet tarantula. Her original intent with the tarantula was that she wanted to own something creepy and scary. She used to be afraid of the spider, but she no longer holds this fear. She sees this tarantula as her friend and cherishes it. YandereDev thinks that Osoro Shidesu and Oka being friends would be a "cute mental image", but would be unsure as to how their friendship would've started.

Oka does want more friends, but she isn't "super fun" to be around, due to her shy and timid behavior. But also because she is only interested in "weird things" that many people don't take seriously.[35] She enjoys meeting socially ostracized people and befriending them. She would want to be friends with Horuda Puresu, even if the latter wanted to stay away from her.[36] However, "kind people" like Amai Odayaka, Asu Rito, and Hanako Yamada would be willing to be friends with Oka, even if the latter has weird interests and is not that sociable.[8]

Taro Yamada Main article: Taro Yamada Like most rivals, Oka will have a crush on Taro and will confess to him on Friday. Oka is very superstitious, which might play a role in how she develops a crush on Taro, and Taro himself likes Oka for her personality.[37] Since she is very strange, the way they will meet will be comical.[38] If she entered a relationship with Taro, he'd become a paranormal investigator

Music genres: Oka likes to listen to music that has a creepy ambience while she reads creepypasta on the internet. Book preferences: Oka only reads horror novels and creepypasta. Favorite color: Her favorite color is the color of her hair, dark gray. Food preferences: Oka's favorite food is pumpkin pie. She also enjoys black olives on her pizza. She enjoys thinking about martial arts mainly because she fantasizes about being a "combat exorcist", banishing evil spirits with a combination of martial arts and traditional exorcism techniques. Even though she is too shy and timid to do anything like that, she always enjoys daydreaming about it. She thinks it would be cool to combine physical combat skills with exorcism methods. Spiders are her favourite animals.

Routine:Before fourth week, Oka will attend her classes via the SAIKOU laptop on her desk. The reason for her absence is that she had to deal with some "very important personal business",traveling across Japan with her parents to visit certain places that are believed to be haunted, including visiting Karlheinz Asylum during Kizana's week.

Debug Builds:Prior to her removal, Oka would enter the school grounds at 7:05 AM. She would walk to her locker at 7:10 AM and change from her outdoor shoes to her indoor shoes. At 7:15 AM, she would walk to the Rooftop and stalk the Basu sisters in search of proof that they are actually supernatural beings, as stated by her Student Profile. If both sisters were dead, she would stay in the Occult Club room until class began.

At 8:00 AM, Oka would walk into Classroom 3-2, sit at her desk, and play on her phone. She would start her morning classes at 8:30 AM.

At 1:00 PM, she would leave class to go to the Occult Club. She would walk back to class at 1:30 PM and participate in cleaning time between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM. She would head to her locker and linger there until 3:50 PM, where she would head to the Occult Club until the end of the day. If Ayano Aishi joined in on club activities, Oka would unsuccessfully try to summon a demon with other members of the club from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM.

If the Occult Club were disbanded, she would socialize with the other remaining former members outside of the club during periods she would normally attend it.

Oka could also be seen walking around and looking at the scenery in Buraza Town.

Her fascination with the paranormal began in early childhood, being born in a family of paranormal investigators,and has shaped nearly every aspect of her personality and interests. She leads the Occult Club at school and has attempted to summon supernatural entities at school and in her room, driven by a genuine desire to prove their existence. In addition to ghosts, demons, and black magic, she firmly believes in fairies, goblins, mermaids, and other mythological creatures, aspiring to one day provide undeniable evidence of their reality. Oka also secretly hopes for a zombie apocalypse, believing it would finally allow her to be useful by sharing her extensive knowledge of survival and the supernatural.

As a hobby, Oka posts creepypasta narration videos and has the fourth-largest following on social media following Amai Odayaka. On her leisure time, Oka actively consumes supernatural media, such as creepypasta videos[land ghost hunter TV shows,despite using the internet minimally otherwise. Her favorite creepypastas are those that are popular on the Japanese internet during the game's setting,and she particularly enjoys media created by Tim Burton, aligning with her dark yet whimsical tastes.Oka has also played horror games like Corpse Party, further demonstrating her attraction to eerie and unsettling themes. She would also collect ancient artifacts rumored to be haunted or cursed.

Among the Personas that are currently implemented in the game, Oka will be Lovestruck. Before her removal, she was a Coward. If Oka saw a corpse, she would flee school and call the Police. If she witnessed a murder, she would start begging for Ayano Aishi to spare her life in exchange for her silence. She could not participate in physical fights against murderers. She would hide her face if Ayano aimed her phone at her.

Oka is a stalker, but not a yandere, as she is too shy to harm others.She is portrayed as shy, timid, and socially awkward, reflecting her deep-seated insecurities. In personal interactions, Oka is extremely sensitive; being slapped would cause her to burst into tears,and due to her lack of self-confidence Oka would become deeply saddened and immediately withdraw if Taro would show interest in another girl. If she were in a relationship, however, she would be motivated to improve her self-care, seeing it as essential to maintaining the bond and avoiding abandonment.Even when witnessing bullying, her shyness prevents direct intervention, but she might later attempt to curse the bullies in secret.

Oka is the president of the school's occult club. She is completely convinced that ghosts, demons, and black magic really exist, and wants to dedicate her life to proving that these things are real.

Oka is absent for school during the first three weeks of gameplay for mysterious reasons. As soon as she returns to school, she is immediately smitten by Senpai. Due to the fact that she falls for him in an extremely short span of time, she believes that there must be something supernatural about him, and begins studying him intently.

She is an awkward girl who is regarded as 'creepy' by the majority of the school, but she is actually quite harmless, and some people even find her to be endearing, as she is quiet and thoughtful. Perhaps Senpai will think that there is something charming about her unusual nature...Founder and President of the Occult Club.

Oka has shoulder-length dark slate gray hair with a fringe that hangs down the middle of her face and flows across her right cheek. Her hair was less messy when she was a child because her mother would comb her hair with love daily, and Oka doesn't bother with it herself as a grown-up.Her eyes are dusky purple and she has large black rings around her eyes. Her lips and skin are pale. The upper half of her face is slightly shadowed. Her height is 159 cm (5'2"), and according to JSON files, her bust size is 1.05.

Oka wears the same school uniform as other girls. In addition to it, she has light blue-gray with a spiderweb pattern thigh-high stockings and light blue-gray fingerless gloves with a spiderweb design. She also wears a black choker with a silver spider pendant. On her left arm, she wears the "Red Arband of Leadership" featuring a black pentagram. Her undergarments include black panties.

Outside of school, she typically wears all-black clothing with a spiderweb design similar to this image and is likely to wear gothic Lolita fashion occasionally. In an early design iteration, she wore a turtleneck under a dark blue blazer; this outfit was accessible by pressing the A key in easter egg menu in the April 10th, 2017 Build, but is no longer available.
