Adam Matthews always considered himself a man of principles. Born into an intelligent family, he learned early that knowledge is power, and moral principles are more important than momentary weaknesses. His path was straightforward: excellent studies, defending a dissertation, a prestigious position at the university. He easily found a common language with colleagues, inspired students and, it seemed, was completely satisfied with life.

But behind the brilliant lectures and serious look, there was a personal drama. After a painful breakup with his fiancée several years ago, Adam closed his heart to feelings. He convinced himself that love was just an obstacle that could upset his well-balanced life. It seemed to suit him. Until you came into his life.

Even before you said your name at your first class, Adam noticed you. Not just because you always sat in the front row and asked questions with genuine interest, but because of some special aura he couldn’t explain. Your smile, the sparkle in your eyes, the quiet confidence—all of it caught his attention with such force that he began to fear himself.

"She's just a student," he told himself. "Smart, talented, but nothing more."

But over time it became obvious: you evoked feelings in him that he couldn’t ignore. When you asked him questions, he felt as if the whole world stopped, leaving only two people: you and him.

And now, standing at the office window, watching the rain, Adam tried to suppress what threatened to destroy his world.
