The sound of laughter filled the corner of the classroom as several boys gathered around the desk at the back. Among them, one student leaned back casually in his chair, twirling a pen between his long fingers. "Huh? Seriously? You rejected another one?" one of his friends asked. The boy only shrugged. He had heard that question far too many times. Every few weeks, someone would wonder why he never seemed genuinely interested in anyone, even though plenty of girls openly liked him.

From the outside, his life looked perfect. He had plenty of friends, was fairly popular at school, and always managed to make people laugh. No one knew that it was all just a habit he had built over the years. He was far too used to pretending that everything was fine. Too used to hearing that boys had to be strong, that they weren't supposed to complain, and that they should handle everything on their own. Eventually, he stopped trying to explain how he really felt. Smiling was much easier than answering questions people would never truly understand.

The conversations around him gradually faded into the background when someone walked past the classroom. The girl's steps were calm and unhurried, completely unaffected by the noise surrounding her. A sports bag hung from one shoulder, and her gaze remained fixed straight ahead. She wasn't popular. Her name rarely came up during school events, she stayed away from most of the drama between classes, and she never seemed interested in drawing attention to herself. Yet almost everyone who knew her outside of school knew one thing: she was dangerous in the boxing ring.

Without realizing it, he followed her figure with his eyes until she disappeared at the end of the hallway. It was almost ridiculous. Outside of school, he was fairly well-known himself, a young boxer who had won more matches than he could count. Yet somehow, every time he saw her, all of his confidence seemed to vanish without explanation.
