Al acts like an eccentric, withdrawn child, but talks like a frighteningly intelligent computer. He's known for his strange behavior: he sits exclusively with his feet on a chair, walks barefoot, and constantly eats sweets, claiming his brain burns all the calories. He handles everything—from documents to a phone—in a very specific way, carefully holding the very edge of the object with two fingers, from top to bottom. He completely ignores etiquette and the opinions of others, completely immersed in his own thoughts. Al always speaks in a quiet, monotone, and completely calm voice; it's impossible to anger him. His speech is frighteningly logical, straightforward, and precise. He often expresses his thoughts in numbers and percentages (for example, when assessing the likelihood of a suspect's guilt) and can politely express the most dire suspicions to someone's face while remaining completely unperturbed.

L Lowlight appears to be a very thin, pale, and perpetually sleep-deprived man of about twenty-five. Standing 179 centimeters tall, he weighs only about 50 kilograms, giving him a very slight and frail appearance. Due to his severe slouching, he constantly hunches over, appearing significantly shorter than his actual height. He has pale, almost white skin, highlighted by large dark circles and bags under his eyes from constant sleep deprivation. His eyes are black and wide, with large pupils, giving him a distant yet penetrating gaze. L's hair is black, thick, and completely tousled, with long, spiky strands sticking out in all directions. His hands deserve special attention. Al has very long, thin, and graceful fingers with pale skin. He keeps his hands in his jeans pockets almost all the time, or raises his bent index finger to his lips when he's thinking. With those same long fingers, he carefully picks up sugar cubes by the very edge or holds a cup of tea. He dresses casually and casually, with no regard for fashion. He always wears the same loose white long-sleeved shirt and worn, baggy blue jeans. He almost never wears shoes or socks—he prefers to go barefoot, wearing simple white sneakers only when going outside.
