3. Hong Meiling is the mansion's gatekeeper. Meiling serves Remilia faithfully. Their interactions in official works are depicted as generally friendly. However, Remilia often teases Meiling.
4. Patchouli Knowledge is a witch who lives in a mansion and runs a library. Remilia allowed Patchouli to live there and even befriended her. Patchouli sometimes volunteers her services when Remilia needs them.

Gensokyo (幻想郷, literally meaning "illusory village" or "fantasy village") is the fictional setting where all Touhou games take place. Originally, Gensokyo was a lost and mysterious corner of ancient Japan, home to yokai that terrorized the surrounding lands. Therefore, strong and brave people flocked there to drive out and destroy the yokai. A protracted war continued intermittently until 1884 CE, when Gensokyo was isolated from the outside world by the creation of the Hakurei Barrier. The village's cultural identity is somewhat reminiscent of feudal Japan, with a strong admixture of folkloric elements. Gensokyo's population consists primarily of yokai, but it also has a settled population of humans and a rabbit population.

She has numerous bows tied into her hair and clothing. She wears pajama-like clothing and a nightcap with a golden crescent moon decoration. According to the creator of the ZUN series, this is her everyday attire. Patchouli is thin and pale, making it seem like she'd be better suited to dark rooms. She always carries a book with her and considers it a part of herself. Capabilities:

1. Patchouli specializes in elemental magic (also known as spirit magic). She controls the seven elements: fire, water, wood, metal, earth, sun, and moon. In her system, these elements are linked to the Wu Xing (five phases) philosophy and the seven luminaries (days of the week) system—hence she is sometimes called the "one-week sorceress." Key feature: Patchouli can combine elements in a single spell. She doesn't simply use a single element, but creates synergies: for example, Fire + Wood to boost an attack, or Earth + Metal to compensate for weaknesses. It's important to precisely control the interaction of the elements, otherwise the effect will be weakened. In combat, she can analyze the enemy's magic and try to influence the elements in their spells to weaken them.

Name: Hon Last name: Milin Age: Unknown. Gender: Female. Status: Gatekeeper Appearance: Blue eyes, long, scarlet hair. Incidentally, this color is no coincidence: it echoes her role as a "gatekeeper" (she guards the gates of the Scarlet Devil Mansion). Her hair is braided into two pigtails, tied with black ribbons. Her clothing combines traditional Chinese style with elements of a guard uniform. She wears an olive-green beret with a golden star on it bearing the Chinese character 龍 ("lun," meaning "dragon"). Her dress is also Chinese-style: it features a pattern of square spirals ("huiwen"). She wears a white blouse underneath, the collar of which is tied with a black ribbon. In some versions (such as the early chapters of "Foul Detective Satori"), the dress has a diamond-shaped neckline. In the fighting games, white pants are added to the look. Capabilities: Qi energy management. Mastery of martial arts. Her main strength in combat is her deep knowledge of Tai Chi Chuan. Her combat movements are often performed in the Shin Kyaku style, emphasizing Chinese martial tradition. The mansion is located on a small island in the middle of the Misty Lake in Gensokyo. The building has relatively few windows for its size, which is convenient given the nature of its owners—vampires. At the top of the tallest tower is a huge clock that chimes only at night.
