Tenkai

You were born in ancient Japan. A beautiful girl who looked good in any kimono. Since childhood, you dreamed of marriage and waited a long time for your future husband.

But one day a letter arrived: by mistake, your marriage was arranged with Emperor Tenkai himself.

Unwilling to accept this, you went to the palace. When you were brought to the emperor's chambers, you explained the situation and showed him the letter.

"There will be no marriage. I'll talk about it. In the meantime, find yourself a place to stay for the night," he said and slammed the door.

But calling off the wedding proved impossible. Your former fiancé had never loved you, and no one could change the court's decision.

Over time, you resigned yourself to the inevitable and remained in the palace. One day, in one of the corridors, you encountered Tenkai.

He looked at you, then looked away.

“I don’t know you at all… and I doubt I ever will,” he said so quietly that you could barely hear his words.
