–Information about the story / the webtoon: 1–
—[What was the world like before the apocalypse?: Before the disaster, the world was practically normal. However, a scientist named Willem Keene was obsessed with finding a cure for terminal illnesses, especially cancer. During his research, he accidentally created the Murks. The experiments transformed human beings into monstrous creatures, and somehow, these creatures escaped and began attacking the population. That was the beginning of the apocalypse.]
—[What are the Murks?: The Murks are the main danger in the world of Homesick. Originally, they were normal people subjected to Willem Keene's experiments. Over time, they mutated into cannibalistic monsters with superhuman strength and endurance. They also hunt humans. They can infect their victims. Some retain fragments of human consciousness. There are special variants that are much more intelligent and dangerous.]—
—[What are the Darknesses?: The "Darknesses" are one of the most mysterious aspects of the series. As the story progresses, it is revealed that the world is not only being destroyed by physical monsters; there is a dark force related to the infection, the Murks, and the mental corruption of people. The Darknesses represent the expansion of the influence of the Murks and the entities that inhabit some infected individuals. The Darknesses often manifest as: Supernatural darkness. Invisible presences. Psychological influence on the characters. Connection between infected humans and Murks. The story never presents them simply as a "lack of light"; they function more as a force associated with the infection and the decay of the world. Many of Rayne's greatest mysteries are connected to this darkness.]—
–Information about the story / the webtoon: 2–
—[Special Infected: Some people survive the infection. When a human is attacked by a Murk and does not die, they can become a "Special Infected." These individuals: Maintain a human appearance. Gain supernatural abilities. Can communicate with the Murk that possesses them. Retain part of their identity, which is why several important characters have strange powers and connections to invisible entities.]—
—[What is the world like during the story?: When Rayne wakes up, approximately three months have passed since the start of the apocalypse. The cities are destroyed. Most of the population has disappeared or died. The survivors live in hiding. Resources are extremely scarce. The Murks dominate much of the territory. Thus, society has practically collapsed. There are no visible functional governments, no police, and no public services. Groups of survivors create their own communities to try to stay alive.]—
—What happens to the world in the end?: Towards the end of the series, the Anti-Murk project appears, created to combat and eliminate the infection. These Anti-Murks represent a possible cure for the world. And according to information revealed at the end and discussions among readers who finished the work, the Murks begin to disappear. The infection stops spreading. The apocalypse begins to end. Human communities begin the reconstruction of civilization. However, the world remains devastated and needs years to recover. In other words, when the story ends, humanity finally has hope of rebuilding the world, although enormous consequences of the catastrophe still remain.
–Information about the story / the webtoon: 3–
—[The Darkness is not simply the Murk infection: At first, it seems that everything revolves around the Murks, but later it is revealed that there are entities or forces that operate on a different level than the biological infection. Characters like Gressil and Gladiolus are related to phenomena that cannot be explained solely by physical mutations. Rayne is connected to something much older, and throughout the story, there are hints that Rayne is not simply a survivor with amnesia. Several revelations link her to the origin of anomalous powers, the resurrection of certain characters, and the entities that exist behind the infection.]—
—[Gressil and resurrection: One of the greatest examples that there is more to it than just infection is that Gressil possesses a resurrection ability associated with supernatural events linked to Rayne. He is classified with the "Resurrection" ability, something that doesn't fit with the normal rules for Murks.]—
—[The "hosts" and internal entities: In the story, characters appear described as hosts of other entities. For example, Gladiolus is identified as the host of Alicia Grimshaw. This suggests that there are beings or consciousnesses that can coexist with humans and infected people.]—
—[But even so, the exact origin of the Darkness is never fully explained.]—
–Information about history / the darkness 1–
–What are the Darkness?: The Darkness are mutated beings that were once human. They are aggressive, deformed creatures with predatory behavior that hunt survivors. Most act like beasts, guided by instincts such as hunger, violence, attraction to humans, and territoriality. They are not simple zombies, but beings with physical mutations and varied behaviors.
–Origin: Before becoming Darkness, they were originally normal people. The transformation is related to: The infection, experiments, the events that caused the apocalypse; the exact origin is connected to the secrets surrounding the experiments and certain key characters in the story.
–How do they work?: When someone transforms, their body changes; they lose much of their humanity, deformities appear, their physical capabilities increase, the appearance depends on each individual because not all the darkness have the same level of mutation.

•Large Darkness: They measure approximately 4–10 meters or more. Being much stronger, slower, and capable of destroying structures.
•Giant/Special Darkness: The largest seen can far exceed the previous sizes, they are anomalies and usually have unique mutations.
–Do they have consciousness?: Some do, while others do not. Well, there are cases where the Murks show memories, recognition, personality, emotions. And this makes the line between "monster" and "person" one of the central themes of Homesick.
