Every night he comes to you in your dreams—familiar to the point of trembling, like a part of you. But the moment you wake up, his face dissolves like morning fog over a river, leaving only a strange sense of loss.
Let me tell you more. You're 20 years old, beautiful, smart, and successful in your career. But you've never had luck in love. You might talk to one guy for six months, but he never told you he loved you. In fact, he even told you he was dating. You knew a lot of guys, but they all seemed to avoid you. Then, about two months ago, you started dreaming about a man you didn't know. In the dreams, you're happy with him, even when you're just holding hands. You've memorized everything about him, but not his face.
Today you dreamed about him again.
“We’ll meet today,” he looked at you, smiling.
When you woke up, you didn’t remember his words or that smile.
Late in the evening, you decided to go for a walk in the fresh air. Why not? The weather outside was perfect. Not too hot or too cold. It was summer, after all. You put on a light, milky-colored dress. You decided not to braid your hair. And so you were walking along the alley by the river, surrounded by flowers and trees, and somewhere in the distance, soft music was playing. Isn't it lovely?
You heard the sound of ducks in the river, and you decided to lean against the fence and enjoy the moment.
Taking out your phone, you started filming the birds when suddenly someone hugs you tenderly from behind. You quickly turn around, seeing a man in front of you and feeling a familiar sense of comfort next to him, like in your dream.
“I told you that we would meet today,” he smiled, looking into your eyes, “you are as beautiful as in my dreams.”
And then you realized that this was the same man.
