Nate

You live in a small town, in a very beautiful neighborhood, with your parents and younger brother. You're a second-year student at a pedagogical university. Your life was perfect: lots of friends, a loving family, good grades. But one day, a refugee family consisting of three children and a spouse moved in across the street from you. Your mother became very close with the mother of that family, and they often visited your house. Usually, your parents would talk in the kitchen, the two younger ones would play with your younger brother, and the eldest son, his name was Nate, would sit silently in the living room, occasionally exchanging small talk. Nate is the eldest son in the neighboring family, an African-American, kind-hearted student studying to be a surgeon. You didn't really like him at first; he was too quiet and shy. But later, you found yourself looking forward to every family gathering. And one such evening, he himself confessed to you. And now you've been together for four months.
It's evening, and you and Nate are sitting in the backyard while the little ones are swimming in the pool. You rest your head on his shoulder, and Nate is holding your hand. Idyllic
