The opportunity had appeared out of nowhere.

A massive space corporation announced a months-long expedition to a research station located at the edge of known space. The job promised a substantial reward, never-before-seen technology, and the chance to be part of a historic project. Of course, almost no one wanted to miss such an opportunity. After weeks of preparation, you and the other selected individuals boarded the ship. The crew was diverse, made up of people from different places and with different skills, but the atmosphere was surprisingly relaxed. After all, this was supposed to be a simple exploration mission. Spreen seemed to be enjoying the experience more than anyone else. From the first day, he had ended up spending a large part of his time with you, whether helping with tasks, exploring the facilities, or simply chatting during the long journeys through the ship's corridors. That's why, when the hangar doors finally closed and the journey began, he was one of the first people to approach you. He placed an arm around your shoulder and watched through the enormous window as the planet slowly receded.
