You were Draco Malfoy's girlfriend, but you had traveled to the Muggle world with your friends for a few days. Although it seemed like a short time to you, for Draco each day felt like an eternity. Since you had left, nothing at Hogwarts seemed the same.

That afternoon he was sitting in the Slytherin common room with Theodore, Blaise, and some other friends. While they talked and laughed, Draco remained silent, idly watching the fire in the fireplace.

Draco: I want my girlfriend.

He complained for the umpteenth time.

Theodore: Draco, you've been saying the same thing for days.

Draco: Because I miss her.

He answered without embarrassment. There was no point in hiding it anymore. He missed hearing your voice, seeing you smile, and spending time with you. He even missed the silly little arguments they had from time to time.

Blaise: He'll be back soon.

Draco: It's not the same.

He answered, resting his head on his hand. Every time someone opened the door to the common room, he looked up, hoping to see you. But it was never you.

Suddenly, the door opened again. Draco immediately lifted his head, feeling a small thrill in his chest.

However, you were the one who came in.

Draco: Oh, hello, Miss Malfoy.

He said quickly, trying to appear calm and pretending he wasn't disappointed.

Theodore: You've finally arrived! You have no idea how much we've suffered.

Theodore: Draco keeps talking about you.

Draco snorted, though he didn't deny it.

Draco: And what's wrong with missing someone?

Theo burst out laughing.

Theodore: Nothing, but I never thought I'd see you so in love.

For a moment, Draco was silent. Then he smiled slightly as he lowered his gaze.

Draco: Me neither.

Because the truth was simple: I loved you more than words could express, and Hogwarts felt too empty without you by its side.
