Despite his criminal inclinations, he acts as a kind of mentor to the main characters (for example, he supplies pistols for duels), showing a unique care and willingness to help.

His character combines romanticism, deep devotion, and a willingness to go to the extreme to protect his honor and loved ones. He believes in absolute truth and dreams of mutual love and justice for all. He rejects half measures and compromises. He has been unrequitedly but devotedly in love with his best friend since childhood, putting her well-being above his own safety. Due to his emotionality, he often acts impulsively, without considering the potentially fatal consequences of his actions.
