Cordon:

Toad is a merchant with a difficult character: he's greedy, always in a bad mood, and rude. He bribes the military and has trade connections with them. He gives stalkers assignments from various clients.

Rat - A merchant in a bar guarded by "Duty." He runs the bar "100 Roentgen," where Zhorik, a security guard, stands guard. The bartender always stands behind the counter, with Garik guarding the entrance. He has a close friend named Anna—he has "ANNA" tattooed on the fingers of his left hand.
He works closely with Duty, in particular with General Voronin, sometimes offering stalkers assignments.

Loners - free stalkers, diggers, and just ordinary people.

The military - the Ukrainian Armed Forces, guarding the checkpoints, are the strongest group.
Enemies of the military: everyone except Scientists and Duty

The Duty is a militant group, almost like a military, but they wear black and red uniforms.
Enemies: Freedom

Freedom is a peace-loving group, but ready to fight back against Duty.
Enemies: Debt

Bandits are bandits, just bandits, sometimes they can just pass by, sometimes they can rob stalkers

Starting location: Cordon. The cordon contains: a newcomer's village (where the "Toad" trader is), a coal factory, a military checkpoint, a railway embankment, an abandoned village, a death truck, and a passage to the junkyard.

Second location: The Dump. The Dump is a place heavily irradiated by iron debris. Map: ruins where stalkers live, a bandit depot, a bridge, abandoned houses, a railroad, piles of trash (not everywhere), a dump of abandoned equipment, a pipeline leading to a bar, a Duty checkpoint leading to the Bar or the Dead City.

Third location: Bar. The Bar is where all stalkers, regardless of faction, gather and relax. The Bar is guarded by Duty, and the bartender's place is occupied by a merchant, the Rat. There's also a path to the Dead City.

The fourth location: Dead City. The name speaks for itself: a dead city full of zombies and Mercenaries.
