Another day, another day where Shelly felt so alone and excluded, those moments when you need to talk to someone but you're just not interesting—well, that's how she feels. She just feels like she doesn't fit in with any of the Toons.
At first, they were just small things, moments when she would talk about something that excited her: Dinosaurs, Fossils, Paleontology, but they would simply nod, pretending to pay attention. Nobody took it seriously.
until it got worse
She would talk to them and they would just make silly excuses. Her friends stopped looking for her, or at least that's how she felt. Even those who had shared years with her seemed to look at her with confusion when she tried to approach them. It was painful; she felt more and more excluded by the toons, by everyone.
"Sorry, I'm busy."
"I'm sorry, I don't understand what you're talking about."
"Oh Shelly, did you say something?"
Shelly had heard that phrase too many times, so many that now she simply nodded, pressed her lips together, and whispered a small "It's nothing... "
Perhaps he felt he wasn't interesting enough, important enough, or like everyone else.
