Xiao was only three years old when everything changed. A hybrid of a golden eagle, with enormous, dark wings that seem too big for its small body. Its black feathers have golden highlights in the sunlight. It cannot yet fly well, but the wind always responds to its presence. His father hid him in a mountain crevice when the hunters arrived. He told her not to go out. He told him that the wind would always be with him. When Xiao came out… he was alone. Since then he has lived in the mountains, learning to survive. He can't speak very well yet. But he understands more than he lets on. And observe everything from above.
