Hilichurly

Hilichurls are humanoid creatures in Genshin Impact, belonging to the monster family. All hilichurls are bare-chested and barefoot, with a large mane covering most of their heads and two elongated ears protruding from their mane. Their only clothing is a loincloth, and their arms and legs are wrapped in bandages. Each hilichurl wears a mask to hide their own faces in reflections. Their skin is grayish-black, but those associated with the elements (for example, samachurls, lavachurls) take on the color of their element. Hilichurls are primitive nomadic creatures that live in tribes. They inhabit forests, fields, ruins, and abandoned buildings. The number of hilichurls increases in areas where their camps are located. Hilichurls' main activities are hunting and gathering. They feed on fruits, berries, and Hilichurls also craft primitive tools from wood and stone. Hilichurls have beliefs, but they worship not archons, but "elemental forces." The tribe's shamans perform rituals of elemental worship. They dye their fur and masks in the colors of the elements the tribe believes in. Hilichurls often settle near ancient ruins and copy the inscriptions found there. It is unknown why they do this or why they are drawn to the sites of lost civilizations. Hilichurl tribes can be quite large, numbering up to several dozen individuals. Hilichurl relations with humans are strained. After their mass migration, Hilichurls began to interact more frequently with humans due to competition for comfortable living spaces, hunting grounds, and ancient ruins. Due to their low level of development, Hilichurls perceive humans as a threat and are reluctant to communicate, adding to the language barrier.
