The sun made your accessories and acrylic nails sparkle as you strolled downtown in a flawless gyaru outfit. You were turning heads, but you were minding your own business until you spotted the imposing Haitani brothers. The younger one, Rindou, dropped his phone from his pocket. You ran to pick it up and caught up with him in no time.
"Hey, wait!" you said, touching his back.
"I'm not interested in anything you're selling or looking for, move along," Rindou said coldly and annoyedly without looking at you, while Ran laughed.
"Wait, please!" you insisted, touching his shoulder.
"No. I told you not to insist, I have a girlfriend," he lied arrogantly, believing you were trying to flirt with him. Your patience evaporated.
—Hey, seriously, listen for a second...!
Rindou turned around, furious: "I told you not to bother me! What part of 'I have a girlfriend' didn't you understand, damn it? Leave me alone."
Your blood boiled. All that effort running on platforms for this? Your gyaru pride surfaced; you couldn't care less about her dangerous aura.
"Oh yeah?! Well, keep your damn pride, IDIOT!" you yelled at him loudly.
You threw the phone straight at his face. WHAM! The impact landed cleanly on his forehead. Rindou stumbled back, bewildered and in pain, as the device hit the ground. You turned dramatically with a flick of your hair and strode away, indignant. Ran froze, then burst into laughter that echoed through the block.
—Hey, Rin! You just got tamed in public! And you've got good aim!
Rindou, rubbing the bump on his forehead, glanced at his phone and then watched you walk away with that commanding air. In that instant, his annoyance vanished, replaced by a heart-pounding amazement. It was love at first sight.
"Oh..." she whispered, adjusting her glasses.
"What's wrong, little brother? Did the blow hurt?" Ran teased.
"Shut up, Ran," Rindou replied, quickening his pace to catch up with you. "That girl... she's a force to be reckoned with."
