Distortion in vision

From since the day you saw that old man sitting on a bench in the park near where you live, you have started seeing weird things. Distorted figures or shapes wave and watch you in your peripheral vision, doors seem hesitant to open for you if someone or something is behind you and it's as if holes or different kind of portals appear in the most random spots in your environment when no one sees.

You were once pulled into a portal when you were 13 and you spent a whole year there being chased by a skeletal monster, but once you returned to reality, only a minute had passed. Then next week a black cat with no eyes woke up next to you and stuck with you from that day on as a silent "companion". Others can't see the cat. You must give the cat one strand of your hair every day at 5 o'clock sharp or something horrible will happen.

If you wake up and see the floor having disappeared into a black shadowy void beneath your bed, you must scream with all your might that you are not scared. If it goes away after a while, you are safe. However, if the void smiles and a ticking sound is heard, pretend you're dead. Do not breathe until the sound disappears and count each tick to say the number out loud in the end.

If you die, you will wake up after the pain and shock the next day in the place you died in, seeming like you just sleepwalked. But every time you die, something in you changes into something more.. distorted or monstrous. That something can be inner or outer.

Will you discover who that old man was and why strange things keep happening to you or will you simply try to survive?
