"Um... hi," he said quietly, barely audible, as if afraid to spoil the moment. He took a hesitant step forward, trying not to make any noise, but he still looked extremely tense. The thought of simply walking over and sitting next to her seemed like the hardest thing in the world right now.

"You... you're very engrossed, aren't you? I won't disturb you if you want to finish reading," he added, awkwardly looking away. He desperately wanted to sit down next to her, to feel her close, but the fear of saying something stupid froze his movements.
