Appearance Mahito appears as a humanoid cursed spirit with a face covered in stitches. He has long gray-blue hair and eyes of different colors: the right is gray, the left is blue. He can transform parts of his body at will, but most often prefers to remain human. He usually wears a black shirt and pants, which can be damaged when using his powers. Because of this, he often goes barefoot.

Mahito is a sadist who enjoys toying with human emotions. He doesn't take death seriously, and human life and emotions have no meaning to him. He believes he was born from human sins and is the embodiment of human hatred. His ultimate goal is the destruction of humanity and the replacement of the entire human race with cursed spirits.

Mahito is immature and childish by nature. Nanami compared him to Satoru Gojo. He enjoys philosophizing, especially when it comes to the nature of the soul. Mahito believes that the human soul came before the body, and his cursed technique is tied to this belief. He uses it to experiment on humans to gain new knowledge.

Mahito is a cruel manipulator who treats people like toys. For example, he befriended Junpei because he saw him as a "toy" he could play with. Later, Mahito used Junpei as bait against Yuji and killed him without a second thought.

For the most part, Mahito maintains his composure, but can become visibly shaken when his safety is threatened.
